His collections featured a combination of compositions by his American heroes and original compositions of his own in a similar style.
A feature of his early LPs was that they came with a tablature booklet, enabling guitarists to learn the songs for themselves.
Dadi performed "Roger Chesterfield," in honor of Roger C. Field, with whom he first traveled to Nashville in 1975 to visit Chet Atkins. Marcel Dadi immigrated to Eilat (Israel) on the Red Sea in 1983 and spent time with his wife and young son before returning to France.

Early life
Marcel Dadi was born in Sousse, Tunisia, on August 20, 1951. In 1954, Dadi and his immediate family migrated to Paris, France. He started playing guitar at the age of 10. By 1964, Andre Assouline, Joseph Illouz, and Maurice Levy had formed a rock instrumental band. He was inspired by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan's music, but he continued to expand his musical horizons with the presence of Bernard Photzer, who introduced him to Elvis Presley and other 1950's rockers. Photzer was also taught the basics of flatpicking. Hugues Aufray, a French singer-songwriter and guitarist, began to experiment with flatpicking as a soloist. In the March 1972 issue, he wrote instructional papers for Folk Music Review, wherein he introduced his rigorous training scheme, which uses a fingering chart.
Before his death, Dadi released several LPs and some instructional videos. In a similar vein, his albums featured a mixture of compositions by his American heroes as well as original compositions of his own. A feature of his early LPs was that they came with a tablature book, allowing guitarists to enjoy the songs for themselves. Dadi performed songs dedicated to his family, such as "Roger Chesterfield," in honor of Roger C. Field, with whom he first traveled to Nashville in 1975 to visit Chet Atkins.
