Makoto Ozone (born in Kobe on March 25, 1961) is a Japanese jazz pianist. He started playing organ at two years old, and by seven years old, he was an improviser.

He and his father appeared on Japanese television from 1968 to 1970.

After being captivated by albums by Oscar Peterson, he switched to piano at twelve years old.

He attended Berklee College of Music in 1980 and later worked with Gary Burton.

He made his debut in 1983 before returning to his native Japan. Kimiko Itoh, a singer, has collaborated with Ozone.

She and Ozone performed as a pair at the Montreux Jazz Festival in September 2003, and she produced her album Kimiko, which won the 2000 Swing Journal jazz disk grand prix for Japanese vocalist.

After being impressed by Oscar Peterson's albums, he switched to piano at twelve years old. He attended Berklee College of Music in 1980 and later worked with Gary Burton. He made his debut on tape in 1983 before returning to Japan.

Kimiko Itoh, a vocalist, has performed with Ozone. They appeared as a pair at the Montreux Jazz Festival, and she produced her album Kimiko, which won the 2000 Swing Journal jazz disk grand prix for Japanese vocalists.

Since 2010, Ozone has been in charge of the visiting professor of Jazz in Kunitachi College of Music.
