Families and friends have attended the funeral of 16-year-old Brianna Ghey, who was knifed to death last month. On a path in Culcheth Linear Park on the afternoon of February 11, Brianna, a baker from Birchwood, Warrington, was discovered with a stab wound. Both a child and a teenager have been charged with her murder and will appear in Liverpool Crown Court on July 10. Neither accuser nor prosecutor can be identified because of their age. Mourners dressed in pink have arrived in droves to attend Brianna's funeral at Elphin's Parish Church in Warrington, Cheshire, on Saturday. The adolescent's casket was carried in a horse-drawn carriage.

Mac DeMarco In Blissful Limbo

www.mtv.com, January 24, 2023
Mac DeMarco, a young boy from 1990s Toyota Land Cruiser, loaded some guitars and gear and began driving north up the West Coast in 2022. The singer-songwriter, who is best known for putting aside heartfelt observations on love and death behind sluicing guitar lines and a jokester character, spoke to few people about his road trip plans. He barely knew himself. He just kept driving. He took off the highway near Fort Bragg, a small city in Northern California, to take in a magnificent triangular rock jutting up from the gleaming Pacific Ocean like a geological shark fin a few days. He took a photograph of the sewer outlet right across the road from the plaza. That photograph graces the back of Five Easy Hot Dogs, DeMarco's latest instrumental album recorded on his two-month trek from NoCal to his former stomping grounds in Rockaway Beach, Queens. He tells MTV News, "It just represents the beginning of the entire thing." "I was alone on the coast, and I was like, here we go." Let's see what happens."

www.mtv.com, December 10, 2021
It's impossible to find the elusive "bop" in any of its quests. Playlists and streaming-service recommendations can only do so much. They often leave a lingering question: Are these songs really good, or are they just new? The MTV News team's hand-picked collection of songs is available in Bop Shop. This weekly collection doesn't discriminate by gender and can include anything; it's a glimpse at what's on our minds and what sounds good. We'll keep it fresh with the new tunes, but there are a few oldies (but goodies) every once in a while. Prepare: The Bop Shop is now open for business.
