Luke Roskell (born 4 February 1997) is an English actor.

He is best known for his role as Sean Spencer in Emmerdale (2011–2014), as well as his appearance in the 2017 historical drama Jamestown.

Personal life

Born in Knowsley, Merseyside, in 1997, and raised in nearby Grappenhall in Warrington, Cheshire. He attended Broomfields Junior School and Bridgewater High School. Luke is the second of his four children, as his mother, Andrea, has three other children, including one older brother and two younger twin siblings.

Career

Roskell appeared in the ITV miniseries Mobile in 2007; the following year, he appeared in the main cast of Alistair Fury's The Revenge Files of Alistair Fury, a television show starring Jonathan Mason; the following year, he appeared in the role of Aaron Pryce, a friend of main character Alistair Fury. Following a fruitful audition for Her Benny, based on Silas Hocking's eponymous Victorian book (1879) about Liverpool street children, Roskell branched out into theatre in 2010. During the show's October run at the Theatre Royal in St Helens, Roskell performed Perks, one of the street children.

Sean Spencer appeared in the long-running soap opera Emmerdale, spanning 264 episodes from 2011 to 2014. After leaving the theatre, he returned to the stage in 2015 to play Carl Jackson, the lead in Gareth Farr's play Britannia Waves The Rules, performing at various locations in North West England.

In three episodes of The A Word's first season, Dan portrayed him. Pepper Sharrow, the youngest of three brothers who lived in Jamestown as first settlers of the Colony of Jamestown in the early 17th century, was later cast in the historical drama Jamestown.
