Early life
Luis was born to parents in Naples, Italy, but a Latino-American couple adopted him at an early age. He started wrestling at Little Rock Central High School, becoming a well-known wrestler and winning the state championship in the process.
Mixed martial arts career
On August 9, 2014, Pea won his first amateur mixed martial arts tournament. In the second round, he defeated Darian Bradshaw and retained by submission. Pea ended his amateur career with a record of 15-2. He made his professional debut against Chris Petty in 2016. He came to victory by knockout.
Pepa was on Team Cormier's "Understanded" and was undefeated. On the third episode of the series, he met Jose Martinez Jr. and lost the game by decision. Pea's tenure on the program was cut short after suffering a foot injury during his quarterfinal fight. Due to his appearance against Worthy on short notice, the suspension was reduced from six months to just six months: marijuana is only considered unlawful by USADA during the competition window for fights. On February 20, 2021 at UFC Fight Night 185, Pea was supposed to meet Drakkar Klose, replacing Jai Herbert. However, the match was called off after Klose's corner tested positive for COVID-19.
On ESPN on ESPN 22, Pea met Alexander Munoz on April 17, 2021. He won the fight via split decision, with 11 out of 16 media scores giving it to Munoz.
