Luan Krasniqi Career

Professional career

Krasniqi won his first match (with Harry Senior). He was invited to train with Lennox Lewis in Big Bear Lake, where he was preparing for the battle against Andrzej Goota. Luan demonstrated that he could withstand Lewis' pressure of sparring. Since then, he has been to Big Bear Lake three times.

Lewis was one of his sparring allies during his preparations for the war against Shannon Briggs, eljko Mavrovi, and Evander Holyfield. Luan overcame the first hurdles of his career as a "newcomer" in professional boxing. He boxed for Panix Promotion 15 times, but after Lennox Lewis' resignation, Luan decided to search for a new alternative. He developed his links with Universum Box-Promotion in February and April 2000 and participated in a number of tournaments for them. He started a three-year contract with Universum Box-Promotion in January 2001.

The fight against Rene Monse, who became Europe Champion, was the pinnacle of his career. He was the first German European Champion after 29 years.

Krasniqi lost his belt in a fight against Przemysniqa. For eight rounds, the man from Rottweil was preparing. Vitali Klitschko's return to action after he was forced to miss the main event. Krasniqi, however leading by points, clearly feared a loss and decided to resign, owing to this lack of preparation.

Krasniqi failed to recover to the top of the European rankings after this loss. He won against the "Bull from Bosphorus" Sinan Samil Samil Sam twice and became European Champion once more on February 14, 2004.

After knocking out highly respected Lance Whitaker and becoming a mandatory challenger for the WBO crown, Krasniqi rose to the top of the heavyweight competition in 2005. He lost against Lamon Brewster. Brewster was able to assault Krasniqi's body with ease. In the last rounds, Krasniqi had been fatiguing and was forced into a punch-exchange, with round 9 being knocked down.

Since the resurrecttion of a new German heavyweight champion was widely predicted to occur on Max Schmeling's 100th birthday, it was disappointing to a large number of German and Albanian fans.

Luan's next fight took place in Stuttgart, Germany, where he defeated David Bostice in a match on April 29.

Luan Krasniqi had intended to fight Tony Thompson, a Top-ten contender, in September 2006, but no deal was made. Krasniqi has reported that the money offered by his promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl was insufficient.

Krasniqi defeated Brian Minto for the WBO Intercontinental Champion title on March 17th. Despite having a height disadvantage of 4 inches (10 cm), Minto was able to hold his own against Krasniqi. However, Krasniqi was able to knock Minto down and win the match in the 12th round. It was later discovered that it was Krasniqi's plot to tire his rivalry. Luan Krasniqi won the Intercontinental Champion award, and it gives him the possibility of a match against Shannon Briggs.

Kransiqi lost to Tony Thompson, putting his hopes of winning a future crown shooter in jeopardy. He lost by a third-round draw to unbeaten Alexander Dimitrenko on November 11, 2008.
