Louis-Edmond Hamelin (born 21 March 193 to be) is a Canadian geographer, lecturer, and author who is best known for his study of Northern Canada. Hamelin developed the Centre for Northern Studies at Université Laval in Québec and served as the President of the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.
He served as a member of the Northwest Territories Legislative Council as well. Hamelin specializes in Northern and Aboriginal peoples' studies.
