Lorne Cardinal (born 6 January 1964) is a Canadian stage, television, and film actor best known for his portrayal of Davis Quinton in Corner Gas.
Early life
At Lesser Slave Lake, a Cardinal was born on a reservation of the Sucker Creek First Nation. As an infant, he attended local schools. He earned a B.F.A. In 1993, she earned a degree in acting from the University of Alberta, becoming the first Indigenous student to do so.
Cardinal is also a rugby unionist. He starred for the Edmonton Druids RFC and then the Strathcona Druids, becoming the first Indigenous player to play for the latter team. He is seen wearing the Saskatchewan Prairie Fire rugby team shirts in his Corner Gas job.

He is best known for his appearances in many films, including Tecumseh in Tkaronto, an aboriginal elder, and Davis Quinton, a Cree man, on Corner Gas. He appeared on several episodes of North of 60. On the APTN stop motion animated series Wapos Bay: The Series, Cardinal Morin can be heard as the voice of Jacob Morin.
Cardinal appeared alongside Craig Lauzon in a Kenneth T. Williams' production of Thunderstick in 2011. On alternate days, the two actors performed in various roles.
Producer Monique Hurteau and producer Chasing Lear (2016) co-created a documentary film that premiered on APTN. Chasing Lear explores King Lear's National Arts Centre theatre performance, which featured an all-Aboriginal cast. August Schellenberg, Billy Merasty, Jani Lauzon, Tantoo Cardinal, and Kevin Loring were among the actors. Lorne Cardinal did double-duty as assistant director and also in charge of Duke of Albany.
