Heartbroken 999 operator, 25, found out her brother had been killed in suspected hit-and-run when her colleague took an emergency call

When one of her coworkers received an ambulance call, a 25-year-old 999 operator discovered her brother died in a suspected hit-and-run. Abi Lloyd Roberts was answering 999 calls on the night of June 2nd 2023. On the night, her brother, 19-year-old Joshua Lloyd Roberts, had called Ms Lloyd Roberts, saying he was walking home on the A4085, Ffordd Waunfawr, Caeathro near Caernarfon. Around 11 p.m., one of Ms Lloyd Roberts' coworkers received a call to announce a collision on the same road. Worried about what she was hearing, she asked her colleague for more information, who reported that a man aged 19 to 20 had been struck and killed on the road.
