Linda Nolan, born on February 23, 1959, is an Irish singer, actress, and television presenter.

Anne, Denise, Mauen, Bernie, and Coleen went from Blackpool, England, at the age of three in 1962, and she and her sister Anne became well-known as members of The Nolans.

She performed with Frank Sinatra in 1975, had seven UK top 20 hits (1979-1982), and appeared in the Tokyo Music Festival in 1981. She was a member of Nolans. Maggie May on Blackpool's Central Pier (1986–1993), where she clocked up over 1,000 appearances after leaving the group in 1984.

Gene Pitney was also a fan of Gene Pitney on his 1984 UK Tour. Cell Block H: The Musical (1996–97), she appeared in two UK touring productions (1996–97).

She appeared in the West End as Mrs. Johnstone for three years and then appeared in Blood Brothers for three years, becoming the third Nolan to play Mrs. Johnston from 2000 to 2008.

She appeared in Menopause The Musical and appeared in her 19th Pantomime, more recently.

She reunited with the Nolans for the I'm in the Mood Again album and tour in 2009, grossing £2 million in ticket sales and breaking box office records.

She appeared in the 13th series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2014.

Linda was a regular guest panelist on Loose Women in 2018.

Early life

Linda Nolan was born in Dublin, Ireland, to Tommy and Maulan Nolan. The family lived in Raheny, a suburb of Dublin. They lived there until she was three years old before heading to Blackpool in 1962, where Tommy and Maulan formed the Singing Nolans of which Nolan was a member. She attended St Catherine's Catholic Secondary School in Blackpool and The Cardinal Wiseman School in Greenford, West London.

Personal life

Nolan married Brian Hudson in 1979 and they married in 1981. He was the Nolans' tour manager until 1983 and then became his wife's boss after she left the company. They were married for 26 years before his death on September 21, 2007, due to liver disease.

Nolan was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, and she was unable to recover. She underwent a single mastectomy as part of her medical treatment. In 2011, she was given the all-clear from cancer. She was diagnosed with cellulitis and lymphedema in her arm in 2007.

Nolan was admitted to the hospital in 2017 with a form of incurable secondary breast cancer on her pelvis. She began radiotherapy to ensure that the cancer did not spread, but she has said she would not pursue chemotherapy if the cancer was determined to be terminal, after seeing how Bernie was in pain from her chemotherapy in 2013.

On July 7, 2014, she admitted she was sexually assaulted by Rolf Harris in 1975 when the Nolans were in South Africa supporting Harris.

She had a minor hit with her sister Coleen in 1981 as part of the Young & Moody Band, with "Don't Do That" (UK No. Lemmy from Motörhead and Cozy Powell appeared in 63), which also featured Lemmy from Motörhead and Cozy Powell.

She left The Nolans in December 1983 and quickly became known as "Naughty Nolan" as a result of her posing in gruesome publicity photos. The Nolans reunited as a five piece (Bernie, Anne, Coleen, Mauen, and Linda) for one-off performances of "I'm in the Mood for Dancing," hosted by Tess Daly, which aired on December 17, 2005 and again on August 9, 2007. Loose Women hosted by Tess Daly.

In 2009, four of the sisters (Linda, Bernie, Coleen & Maud) reunited for a fruitful tour of the UK and Ireland. They also released I'm in the Mood Again, which reached No. 1 on the charts. On the UK Album Chart, 22nd on the list.

Nolan left the company to appear in Maggie May's Central Pier's eight summer seasons (1986-1993), totaling more than 1,000 performances. Rosie O' Grady's (1994–95) was her first film appearance in a similar series on Blackpool's South Pier.

She appeared in two UK tours of Prisoner: Cell Block H – The Musical, from 1996 to 1997, as the prison governor in two prison tours: Cell Block H – The Musical.

She appeared in Blood Brothers for three years in the West End, and she regularly appeared in the UK touring revival until 2008. After Bernie and Denise, she was the third Nolan sister to play the role. Mauen Nolan has been active in the West End of the UK tour for many years, earning the sisters a spot in Guinness World Records as the most siblings to play the same role in a musical.

On Blankety Blank with Anne and her daughter Alex, and Bernie on Pointless Celebrities, Nolan has appeared on Blankety Blank.

Nolan appeared in the thirteenth series of Celebrity Big Brother in January 2014. Coleen had competed in and finished second place in the tenth series prior to this.

She revealed her "Naughty Nolan" nickname after finding she would be handcuffed by, saying, "I like a bit of bondage."

Jim Davidson, a contestant in the house of Commons, was caught red-handed stealing money from comedy Frank Carson's dressing room in 1995. Davidson, who was playing up the road at the time and then lost his temper, yelling "no one steals from my mates" and threatening to punch him, angered him. Davidson was immediately kicked out of the nightclub. Nolan was reminded by Davidson of his antics on Day 15, sparking a discussion. On Day 22, she was banned from returning to work.
