Ex-minister Liam Fox is accused of sexism after the Labour and SNP dismissive remarks that the Rwanda programme amounts to "state sponsored human trafficking."

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 18, 2024
After branding a female MP'hysterical, a Tory former Cabinet minister was accused of sexism in the House of Commons last night. Fellow MPs called Dr Liam Fox a "misogynist" after he made the remark about SNP's Alison Thewliss. The spat erupted over Rishi Sunak's proposed Rwanda bill, which the Prime Minister hopes would finally bring migrant deportation flights to Africa off the ground. Dr Fox said in the Commons that it was "very clear" that it was only the Conservative Party that "understands the notion of deterrence when it comes to the consequences of dealing with unlawful immigration. Dr Fox retaliated as he was mocked by Ms Thewliss, saying, "She has had her hysterical name." I will have mine.' The Rwanda Bill, according to MPs, is "no more or less than state-sponsored human trafficking."
