Wilson is said to have pleaded guilty to placing 743 bets on football over a seven-year career while competing for 11 clubs. The FA has reported a three-month suspension of the 30-year-old midfielder, who played for Newport Pagnell in the FA Vase final in May, after being suspended. Wilson and former England Under 19 goalkeeper Dean Snedker, who began their careers with Toney in Northampton, were charged by the FA with placing a total of 1248 bets on football, according to Mail Sport. Wilson's family argued specifically that their probe into Toney, who was banned from football for eight months after being found guilty of violating the rules by placing 232 bets. The lawsuit against Snedker is also ongoing.

XCLUSIVE: Two members of Ivan Toney's former Northampton team have been charged with breaching FA gambling laws after exchanging betting tips with the Brentford striker. Mail Sport has confirmed that non-league players Dean Snedker and Lewis Wilson, who both played for Toney at his first club Northampton and are now England supporters, are accused of placing over 1200 bets between them on matches. Both Snedker and Wilson are regular participants in the Rushden & Diamonds and Banbury Town football games, but they have been barred from betting on football. Both defendants were charged in May with breaking FA Rule E8 in a case that has not been announced publicly. Wilson of making 745 bets between March 2017 and October 2022, according to Snedker, who is accused of placing 503 bets between June 2016 and June 2022. The allegations are said to have been triggered by Toney's previous probe last year, when he was banned from football for eight months in May after being found guilty of breaking the rules by placing 232 bets. The 27-year-old cannot play until his suspension comes to an end next year, and he is not allowed to train at Brentford until next month.
