The man convicted over the 2012 one-punch killing of 18-year-old Thomas Kelly (pictured left) in Sydney's Kings Cross nightlife district has walked free from prison. Kieran Loveridge (pictured right) was released from Broken Hill prison in far western NSW late on Friday after a State Parole Authority decision earlier this month.

After failing attempts to inspect NSW prisons, United Nation inspectors have returned home to New York. According to them, the states' refusal to cooperate is a "clear breach" of their obligations. 'The lack of cooperation, particularly with regard to NSW and Queensland, has compelled us to take this drastic action,' the UN said in a tweet.'
