EastEnders icon Lindsey Coulson is reportedly joining the next Waterloo Road series amid rumours she will make a shocking return for the soap's 40th anniversary.  The actress, 64, who plays Carol Jackson in the BBC soap, has reportedly already begun filming for the next series of the school drama.  According to The Sun, she will be starring as the new headteacher in the show with Jason Manford departing as Mr Savage after just one series. 

EastEnders airs an emotional exit scenes as a devastated character leave Walford on Thursday night's upcoming episode. Bobby Beale - who is played by Clay Milner Russell - is exiting the iconic soap and emotional scenes are set to pull on the heart strings of fans. Bobby first appeared in the BBC One soap in July, 2003, following his birth and has had many ups and downs in Walford.

More than a decade ago, Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) attacked Lucy with a jewellery box as part of the Who Killed Lucy Beale? storyline.  Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) attempted to cover for him but he ended up going to prison.

Laurie Brett, an EastEnders actress, revealed on Tuesday that she had undergone mystery surgery. When posting a photo in her gown from her hospital bed, the actor, 54, who played Jane Beale in the BBC soap, announced the news on Twitter. She didn't reveal what kind of surgery she had, but she did thank the NHS for looking after her as she posed with her teddy bear in recovery.

Fans of EastEnders are confident they have seen one of the soap's most famous characters on set, sparking rumors of a surprise return. Jane Beale, played by Laurie Brett, was last seen in Albert Square in 2017 when Max Branning ordered her to leave Walford and hasn't been seen again. Following reports that Jane could be heading back to EastEnders, supporters began to question whether she might be returning to EastEnders.

Adam Woodyatt, the EastEnders' legend, has revealed that he will not return to the soap after rediscovering his passion for acting in the theatre. Ian Beale, 54, appeared on the show for 37 years before bowing out in 2021, and despite the door being left open for his character, there are still'many doors' open to him outside Walford. He told The Buzz, "I've kind of remembered why I fell in love with this career in the first place in the last year or so."

According to a recent report, Adam Woodyatt of EastEnders is expected to appear in a revival of Lerner & Lowe's My Fair Lady, earning up to £500,000 per year. In the role of Alfred P. Doolittle, the father of Eliza's central character, the actor, 54, is back on stage. Adam gushed that he is 'thrilled' to be playing a part of the UK and Ireland tour in a recent Instagram post.
