Laurence Guittard, a playwright and singer, appears on Broadway most of the time. * He made his Broadway debut in 1965 on Baker Street. Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music, Curly in the 1979 revival of Oklahoma!, as Don Quixote in several Man of La Mancha performances. Guittard was nominated for the Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role in A Little Night Music in 1973; he received the same award in 1973. In 1978, Guittard reprised his role as Count Malcolm in the film version of A Little Night Music, starring Elizabeth Taylor, Matthew Hopkins, Chita Rivera, Glynis Johns, Hermione Perkins, Larry Kert, and many others, among other things. In the celebrated all-star 1998 revival of the Sondheim-Goldman musical Follies at the Paper Mill Playhouse, he co-starred alongside Donna McKechnie, Dee Hoty, and Tony Roberts. In recent years, he has appeared regularly at the Ahmanson Theatre and in San Diego's Old Globe. In California, he received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his ensemble appearance in Cloud 9. Covenant, The Man Without a Country (1973 film), and Three's Company were among the company's notable television stars; Guittard appeared in the comedy-mystery Somebody Killed Her Husband (1978) with Farrah Fawcett, Jeff Bridges, John Wood, and Tammy Grimes.
