Kyle Fuller Career

College career

Fuller appeared in seven games as a true freshman in the Hokies' nickel defense, primarily in the Hokies' nickel defense. He had 32 tackles, four for loss, six in a row, and sparked a fumble. He appeared in all 14 games at two separate positions in 2011 as a second-team All-ACC pick at corner. For the other seven games, he started at nickelback/whip linebackers for seven games and corner for the other seven games. He had over 1000 snaps on offense and 100 on special teams. On the season, he had 65 tackles, a team-high 14.5 tackles for injury, and five sacks. In addition, he had seven pass breakups, two interceptions, five quarterback hurries, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. In 2012, he appeared in all 13 games and was named honorable mention All-ACC at corner, with three of them being intercepted, two interceptions, and five pass breakups. He was one of the Hokies' four permanent captains in 2013. He was selected as a third-team All-ACC pick and played in nine games, making eight starts and missing the team's final four games due to injury. In his last season, he had 24 tackles, two interceptions, and ten pass breakups.

Professional career

The fuller attended the NFL Scout Combine and did all of the combine drills. Fuller competed at Virginia Tech's pro day on March 19, 2014, but opted to stand on his combined numbers instead of performing positional drills. According to NFL draft analysts and scouts, he was expected to be a first-round pick. DraftScout.com ranked fuller as the best cornerback prospect in the draft by NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock, and Sports Illustrated ranked him as the third best cornerback.

In the first round (14th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Fuller. He was the second cornerback selected in the draft, behind Justin Gilbert (eighth overall, Browns).

The Chicago Bears signed him to a four-year, $9.68 million contract with a signing bonus of $5.36 million on May 14, 2014.

Fuller was the third cornerback on the Bears' depth chart to start the regular season, behind Tim Jennings and Charles Tillman.

In the Chicago Bears' season-opening against the Buffalo Bills, he made five total tackles in their 23–20 loss. Fuller defeated the San Francisco 49ers 28-20 on Sunday Night Football on September 14, 2014, with season-high seven combined tackles, two pass deflections, and two interceptions. He made his first interception of his career off a pass by quarterback Colin Kaepernick, and the fourth quarter saw him gain 20 yards from a pass. He was the first Bears' rookie to have two picks in a game since Chris Harris in 2005. He was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the first week in history, beating Mark Carrier in 1990. After Charles Tillman sustained a triceps injury and was placed on injured reserve in Week 3, Fuller made his first appearance in his career. The Bears defeated the New York Jets 27-19 on Monday Night Football, with seven combined tackles, two pass deflections, prompted two fumbles, and made an interception. In their first three games, he became the first NFL player in 20 years to record three interceptions and two blocked fumbles. During a 34–17 loss to the Detroit Lions, he recorded a season-high seven solo tackles and broke up a pass. After finishing with a 5–11 record in 2014, the Chicago Bears fired head coach Marc Trestman on December 29, 2014. He had 64 total tackles (51 solo), ten pass interceptions, four interceptions, and three interceptions, as well as three forced fumbles in 16 games and 14 starts in his rookie season in 2014.

The completeer's training camp was scheduled as a starting point. Head coach John Fox has named Fuller a starting cornerback to begin the regular season, opposite Tracy Porter. During a 37-34 loss to the Detroit Lions on October 18, 2015, Fuller recorded a season-high eight combined tackles. In Week 8, he had two combined tackles, a season-high two pass deflection, and intercepted quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's pass in the Bears' 23-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He appeared in all 16 games and totaled 55 tackles (47 solo), nine pass deflections, and two interceptions. Fuller struggled through the early portion of the season, including being responsible for two major defensive pass interference penalties, boosting the likelihood of being moved to safety. He eventually improved as the year progressed.

Fuller dealt with a knee injury during training camp. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in August 18, 2016, to fix his knee injury. After being on suspension for the first three games while recovering from knee surgery, the Chicago Bears placed Fuller on injured reserve on September 28, 2016. Fuller returned to practice on November 30, 2016, but he wasn't added to the active roster and remained on injured reserve for the remainder of the 2016 season.

Ryan Pace, the Chicago Bears' general manager, revealed on April 29, 2017, that the team will not choose the fifth-year option on Fuller's rookie deal.

He attempted to be a starting cornerback against Marcus Cooper and Prince Amukamara during training camp. Fuller was the third cornerback on the depth chart to start the regular season, behind Cooper and Amukamara.

Since Prince Amukamara sustained his ankle during the preseason and was inactive for the first two regular-season games, he got his first in the Chicago Bears' versus the Atlanta Falcons. In their 23-17 loss, the fuller had six combined tackles and missed a pass. Marcus Cooper made the start in Week 5 after he was unable to play due to a back injury. Vic Fangio, the offensive coordinator, preferred Fuller over the remainder of the season as a starting cornerback. During a 15-14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on December 3, 2017, Fuller gathered a season-high seven combined tackles, two pass deflections, and intercepted a pass by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. He had an excellent year in 2017 with 69 combined tackles (61 solo), a career-best 22 pass deflections, and two interceptions. He received an overall rating of 84.3 from Pro Football Focus, which ranked him 21st among all qualifying cornerbacks in 2017.

The Chicago Bears released the transition tag on Fuller, worth $12.971 million, on March 6, 2018. The Green Bay Packers signed a four-year, $56 million contract with a promised bonus to Fuller, which the Bears then matched later that day, keeping Fuller under Bear control through 2021.

Fuller's 2018 season began on a disappointing note when he dropped a potential game-sealing interception against the Packers, who eventually won 24–23; after the game, he said, "All I have to say is I have to catch it." In Weeks 6 and 7, he intercepted three total interceptions, two off the former's Brock Osweiler and two others off the latter's Tom Brady. The two picks in Miami marked the first time a Bear intercepted two interceptions in a game since Fuller's 2014 appearance against the 49ers.

He intercepted four more interceptions against Nathan Peterman of the Buffalo Bills, Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions, Eli Manning of the New York Giants, and Jared Goff of the Los Angeles Rams during the remainder of the regular season. Fuller finished the season with 55 tackles, 21 passes blocked, and posted a league-leading seven interceptions with Xavien Howard and Damontae Kazee. He received an overall rating of 81.4 from Pro Football Focus in 2018, the seventh highest grade among all qualifying cornerbacks in 2018.

Fuller was selected to his first Pro Bowl on December 18, 18 years old. He was later named to first-team All-Pro, as well as teammates Khalil Mack, Eddie Jackson, and Tarik Cohen.

Fuller made his first interception of the season against the Denver Broncos in week 2 following a pass from Joe Flacco that was supposed for Emmanuel Sanders in the 16–14 victory. Fuller intercepted a pass from Case Keenum in Week 3 against the Washington Redskins, giving the win by 31–15. Fuller made an interception off Philip Rivers in week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

With three interceptions and 12 pass breakups, the fuller ended the 2019 season. His 82 combined tackles were a career high. Since being selected as an alternate, he was named to the 2020 Pro Bowl roster in place of an injured Jalen Ramsey.

Fuller played his first interceptor of the season against the Detroit Lions in Week 1 after defeating the 27-23 team in Week 1. Fuller fumbled running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football, which was recovered by teammate Robert Quinn after the 20–19 victory.

The Bears released Fuller on March 20, 2021, just over 2021.

On March 23, 2021, Fuller signed a one-year, $9.5 million deal with the Denver Broncos.

Fuller did not participate in the Broncos' week 8 match against Washington due to poor play, and after losing potential playing time in recent weeks to Nate Hairston and Patrick Surtain II, it was not present in the Broncos' week 8 match against Washington.

Leading up to the 2021 trade deadline, it was widely predicted that the Broncos would sell the team at full throttle. However, he was not sold at the time. Through 16 games and ten starts, he finished the season with 51 tackles, four pass deflections, and no interceptions.

Fuller was signed by the Baltimore Ravens on May 24, 2022. After suffering a torn ACL in the Week 1 match against the New York Jets, the Ravens placed Fuller on injured reserve on September 14.
