Kirk Talley Life

Kirk Lewis Talley (born June 9, 1958) is an American Southern Gospel performer/songwriter.

Talley is best known for his work as a tenor singer with the legendary Gospel Quartet The Talleys, as well as the family company The Hoppers, as well as a fruitful solo career as a singer and songwriter.

Personal life

Talley was diagnosed in 2010 with abductor spasmodic dysphonia, a vocal disorder that was affecting his ability to sing, and after a string of Botox shots that were supposed to bring back to his voice but ended up worsening his voice, he stopped driving. Talley released this to the public in a Facebook post at the end of 2013, "OK i know i haven't posted much on here lately, but as you might guess, I am not touring or singing." I work full time at Belk, which is located in Knoxville's Westtown Mall. I am a Ralph Lauren Polo specialist, and I love it. I am having problems voting. I was diagnosed with Abductor Spasmodic Dysphonia, which has made it extremely difficult to perform and some days, even talk. "Thanks for your prayers about the..." Talleyley undergoes regular therapy for his vocal injuries in the hopes of returning to perform again.

Talley appeared in two Facebook videos for the first time since 2012. He hasn't stated whether or not he'll pursue singing as a hobby.

Kirk Talley Career

Early career

Talley was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, and graduated from Bulls Gap High School in 1976. He and his brother Roger and sister Diane began performing Southern Gospel Music in 1972. He was a member of the Hoppers, the Cathedral, and the Talleys. He appeared in 1979 and joined the Cathedrals as Mark Trammell, Glen Payne, George Younce, and Roger Bennett. Talley wrote a number of songs during his time with the Cathedrals, including "Step Into the Water," which remained at the top of the Southern Gospel chart for nine months. He and his brother and sister, Roger and Debra, were married in 1983 and together, became the Talleys, where he sang tenor until 1992.

He wrote "He Is Here" while working with the Talleys, which was named "Dove Award for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year" in 1991. At the 34th annual Grammy Awards, the album was selected for the Best Southern Gospel Album.

Talley and Anthony Burger and Ivan Parker formed the Trio in 1999.

Solo career

Talley began his solo career in 1993 and has appeared throughout the United States and Canada. Talley's first No. 1 is a tay. "Joy On the Other Side of Jordan" came as a soloist from his I Speak to You project.

Serenade, his first venture on a major record label, has two top ten charting songs, "Serenaded by Angels" and "If He Hung the Moon," as well as a series of awards for Talley at the 1996 National Quartet Convention. Talley received three Diamond Awards: Soloist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Song of the Year for "Serenaded by Angels," according to Gospel Voice magazine. For "Serenaded by Angels," the Singing News magazine honoured him with the 1996 Fan awards for Favorite Male Vocalist, Favorite Songwriter, and Song of the Year.

Talley Ho, Ho Ho Ho! debuts in 1999. It includes "Fruitcake" by Hee Haw Singers and "I Pray on Christmas" by Kingdom Heirs, as well as "I Pray on Christmas" by Prince Hee.

Talley did not announce a project in 2004. Live at the River, a semi-popular live album, was released in 2005. My Story, My Song, his first album to be released on an independent music label since 1993, the majority of his works in subsequent years will be released on an independent label.

Talley's album "Beyond Words" came after a five-year absence from releasing projects as a result of poor coverage of an extortion attempt that Talley was a victim of in 2003. This will be his first appearance since 2005. "I am so excited about this launch," Talley's reaction to the announcement. I finally managed to find songs that fit a little bit of every style that I love. Beyond Words is my most recent CD. I think this is the most upbeat project I've undertaken in a long time. If you aren't moved by "When His Presence Fills This Place," you need to get a check up! It's the most amazing ballad I've ever heard in years.

I just wish I had written it!"

Talley's most recent release as a soloist is his 2011 album Hymns of Hope.

Talley resigned from singing in December 2012 after suffering from an ongoing battle with abductor spasmodic dysphonia. This resulted in his absence from the 2013 and 2014 Cathedrals Family Reunion.
