Kevin Yagher (born June 23, 1962 in Decatur, Illinois) is an American special effects technician best known for Freddy Krueger's makeup and the Crypt Keeper creature.

Personal life

On May 19, 1990, he married actress Catherine Hicks. Caitlin, the two girls' daughter who was born in 1992, has been a member of the Caitlin family. He has two brothers, actor Jeff Yagher and special makeup effects artist Chris Yagher.

Career

Kevin Yagher Productions, a Kevin Yagher Productions firm, created special effects for A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: The Dream Master, A Nightmare, Volcano, Troopers, Conspiracy Theory, Radio Flyer, Mission: Impossible 2, Honey, I Blew Up the Child. Tales from the Crypt and Child's Play, where he met his wife, Catherine Hicks, are among Yagher's other credits.

Chucky doll's designer and executor. Yagher has worked closely with puppeteer Brock Winkless on his creations. In Child's Play and several of its sequels, Winkless performed the puppetry for Chucky, for example. I Blew Up the Child (1992): Yagher and Winkless worked closely on the photographic effects of Honey, I Blew Up the Child (1992).

Hellraiser: Bloodline was directed by Yagher, but the film was credited to Alan Smithee after Dimension Films re-edited it. He is the CEO of Kevin Yagher Productions, Inc.

On several occasions, Yagher has worked with "Weird Al" Yankovic. Yagher created a fat suit and appliance makeup for Yankovic's "Fat" video in 1988, which Yankovic wore in his concerts later this year. When parodying Rambo in his film UHF a year later, Yagher created prosthetics that gave Yankovic a hypermuscular upper body.
