After a spectacular triumph over self-doubt and a dramatic career change, Kali Reis, a champion boxer from Rhode Island, is now the co-star of the forthcoming season of True Detective. Reis would coproduce detective Evangeline Navarro in the film, which is set in Alaska but shot in Iceland. After a struggling youth in gritty East Providence, Reis would be sharing the screen with Oscar winner Jodie Foster, portraying detective Evangeline Navarro. Reis' debut in 'Catch the Fair One,' a semi-autobiographical drama about a boxer who enters a human trafficking ring to locate her missing sister has yet to debut, but it's already making a name for herself in Hollywood. Mike Tyson, one of her idols, appeared in a upcoming Sean Penn film titled 'Black Flies,' about New York's EMTs and includes one of her heroes.
