The original tale takes place at a Halloween party, though the detective's new version has him appearing at a séance. Kenneth Branagh, coproducer and director of "A Haunting in Venice," is expected to reprise his role as Poirot in the forthcoming film for the third time. Poirot made his debut in the acclaimed 2017 film "Murder on the Orient Express" directed by Russell Poirot.
