For misusing his computer to search confidential information for a woman he was having an affair with, a shameful police chief was sentenced to 14 months in prison. Chief Inspector Joseph Jones, 48, of Swansea, obtained confidential information of a couple who were tenant of the woman using the South Wales Police computer system. According to a hearing, cleaner Kelly Roberts informed Chief Inspector Jones that she was in conflict with the couple and needed details on them. Jones had been involved in a 'brief sexual relationship' with Miss Roberts before committing the database fraud.
