A man who screamed a woman and mauled her dog to death has been barred from owning dogs for ten years. In May this year, Gary Mulligan's dog, Zuko, assaulted Agnes Donaldson and killed her Yorkshire Terrier in Glasgow's Castlemilk district. Ms Donaldson, a 63-year-old girl who collapsed to the ground and landed on her wrist, was rescued by Zuko's leap. The dog bitched onto her tail, clutching it in its jaws and pounding it vehemently. The Yorkshire terrier died as a result of puncture wounds to the kidneys.

As they know they are not real, motorists in Swanscombe, Kent (left), have dubbed 2D speedbumps (right) a 'waste of paint.' The humps were painted to stuggish drivers along a busy highway, replacing real bumps that had damaged vehicles over the years. Katie Bell, a bus driver, drives along the road more than 50 times a day and claims that the 2D road cushions, which look like an optical illusion, do nothing to slow traffic.
