Karen Beth Disher (born August 7, 1972) is an American film producer and storyboard artist who has appeared in numerous voice-over roles in films, television, cartoons, and video games.

She is an artist at Blue Sky Studios, an in-house studio at twentieth Century Fox Animation.

Personal life

Disher married Robert Todd Partington, then a MTV Networks administrator of computer graphics and animation technologies, in 2001.

Life and career

At the Tisch School of the Arts in New York, Disher studied traditional 2D animation. She joined MTV Animation as a layout artist on Beavis and Butt-head after graduation. She later conceived the main characters and was the supervising producer on the hit film Daria. In addition, she produced two TV feature-length installments in the film Is It Falling Yet? Is It College Now? In 2000 and the sequel, Is It College? In 2002, the United States made its first appearance in a newspaper. She joined Blue Sky Studios, where she appeared on many animated films, including Robots, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Horton Hears a Who, The Peanuts Movie, and Ferdinand. She was also the editor of a short animated film Surviving Sid and a television special Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas, both part of the Ice Age series. She contributed to several minor characters in the films she directed, most notably to Scratte in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

Disher was chosen to co-direct Blue Sky's first feature-length musical, "Foster," based on an original story written by Disher, co-director Steve Martino, and Tim Federle, with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul's songs to be written.

Disher joined Spire Animation Studios in 2021 as the Creative Director, Research, and she is a founding member of the studio's brain trust, the "Creative Cadre."
