Kara Lindsay (born February 16, 1985) is an American actress best known for her roles as Katherine Plumber in Newsies (2012) and Glinda in Wicked (2014, 2020).

Kara Lynn Lindsay was born in Rochester, New York, and attended Athena High School, studying under renowned director and instructor Judith Ranaletta before enrolling at Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned a BFA in acting/musical theatre.

Lindsay and Kevin Massey were there at the last callbacks for Little House on the Prairie in 2008. They began dating around 2009, when the tour began, and became engaged after the tour had concluded. Lindsay married Massey on June 2, 2013. Emerson Charles Massey, their son, was born on November 12, 2019, and they have a son Emerson Charles Massey. Lindsay and Massey appear annually at the Disney Epcot International Festival of Arts in Orlando, Florida.
Career
Melissa Gilbert, who appeared Laura in the original television series as "Ma" in 2009, appeared in a musical theatre performance at the Paper Mill Playhouse of Little House on the Prairie as Laura. Katherine Plumber appeared in Newsies, a Disney musical written for the stage by Harvey Fierstein in 2011. The protagonist Jack Kelly's fictional love interest, but Lindsay said she was inspired by Nellie Bly, a real-life investigative journalist. She continued her role as Newsies migrated to Broadway and appeared in her last performance on February 2, 2014.
Lindsay appeared in Glinda in the second national tour of Wicked, where she appeared opposite Laurel Harris as Elphaba from April 2 to November 23, 2014. She then reprised her role as Glinda on Broadway from December 16, 2014, until January 31, 2016, when she was replaced by Carrie St. Louis, who had previously replaced her on tour as Glinda. Lindsay returned to the role of Glinda on Broadway on November 1, 2016, after Carrie St. Louis. She returned to Wicked's second national tour in 2018 and joined Jackie Burns in Salt Lake City on February 24, 2019.
