Kalado Career

Early life and career

Gordon was born in Kingston's Maxfield Park but with his mother and siblings, they moved to Clarendon Parish, Jamaica, at the age of four. He graduated from Edwin Allen High School with a Caribbean Examination Council Distinction for Art & Craft at the age of 16. After graduating Gordon returned to Kingston to begin recording.

Lil Wayne, Bounty Killer, Assassin, Drake, and Shabba Ranks have all been cited as influences by Kalado.

Gordon was given the opportunity to compete in 2008 after being caught the eye and ear of a judge on the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall show.

Kalado's "Badmind a Kill Dem" on his own G-Law Records in 2009, but it was his single "Sad Streets" that resulted in the most popular video on HYPE TV as well as a mixtape of the same name that went viral. In 2011, Kalado produced "Provide," the young and talented dancehall producer Bena Di Senior's second single that sparked a buzz on the airways.

Bounty Killer had invited Gordon to be a member of his new crew of rising dancehall artists, Alliance Next Generation.
