Kim Jung Gi, the celebrated South Korean cartoonist, died of a'sudden' heart attack on Monday at the age of 47 while visiting Paris for an exhibition of his work. When he complained of chest pains at the airport, the influential comic book artist was planning to leave the French capital and fly to New York City for a Comic Con appearance. According to a government statement shared on his verified social media pages, Jung Gi was taken to the hospital where he later died.

While in Paris, Mr Jung Gi, 47, died "suddenly" on Monday. His colleague Hyun Jin Kim revealed today that he died today. Mr Jung Gi, who had completed his last work in Europe, was heading to New York when he noticed 'chest pains' at the airport. He was admitted to the hospital for surgery, but he's'sadly passed away.' Mr. Jung Gissle leaves behind a wife and two children. The cartoonist's new exhibit, which is on display at The Daniel Maghen Gallery, will remain on display until Saturday at the request of his family.
