The sister of a 51-year-old man who was mauled to death by a 'out of control' dog has paid a respect to him as a 53-year-old man faces a dangerous dogs act of offence today. In Derby, Wayne Stevens, 51, was fatally wounded by the dog in the early hours of Saturday morning. A man was taken to a hospital on Cameron Road just after 5.50 a.m., after police learned that a man was critically wounded. Mr Stevens was tragically killed on the scene. Gary Stevens, 53, has been charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act with being in possession of a dog that has been dangerously out of control resulting in death. Later today, Gary, of Cameron Road, Derby, will appear in Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court. Julie Stevens, Wayne's sister, paid tribute to her brother on Monday, quoting: 'I can't believe it.' It seems as though we're in the middle of a nightmare, I can't get my head round any of this.' RIP Wayne, We'll always love you brother.'

A dog that was 'posing a danger to officers and the public' was retrieved at the scene, according to Derbyshire Police. Gary Stevens, of Cameron Road, Derby, has now been arrested and will appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court tomorrow.
