TEXTOR: MARMION is a student who is trapped after inviting a far-right White Nationalist to speak at a campus conference, which is a strange tale about a Harvard professor (Julian Ovenden). 'In Paul Grellong's David Mamet-ish romance, the only response to hate speech is more speech,' he glibly says, emerging from the tightening noose of a tawdry compromise. Grellong's play goes on to show that there is no such thing as a "true and omission of facts" in white supremacists' 'distortion of truth and omission of facts can be misleading assertion of truth and misogyny. Grellong loses the dramatic nex of his would-be thriller by delving into the college Dean's tertiary connivances and cover-ups (Tanya Franks), a Jewish former student and a PhD student suck-up.
