Julian Dobbenberg (born 20 August 1995), better known by his stage name Julian Jordan, is a Dutch musician, DJ, and record producer from Apeldoorn.
Sander van Doorn's "Kangaroo" and Martin Garrix's "BFAM" are two of his most well-known songs.
Career
Dobbenberg discovered a love for music as an infant. He took lessons at a music academy and was keen on various percussion instruments at the age of five. He released his first song, "Yxalag," on the internet at the age of 14. A handful of record labels had piqued the attention of a few of them. He released "Travel B" and "Lynxed" on Suit Records and Plasmapool in 2012, respectively.
Before graduating from school, he signed Spinnin' Records, a then-independence Dutch record label. His music was characterized as electro and progressive house during this period. Martin Garrix, who attended Herman Brood Academy, was astonised and embraced through Spinnin'. "Rock Steady" was his debut single with Spinnin's titled "Rock Steady," which was also named after his radio show Rock Steady Radio. He was later listed by MTV as an artist to watch.
He co-authored the single "Kangaroo" on August 20, 2012, with Sander van Doorn. He and Garrix produced the single "BFAM" in November last year. The song name is an acronym that stands for "brother from another mother." Dobbenberg released "Ramcar" and "Childish Grandpa" as singles in 2013. The latter was developed in collaboration with TV Noise. In 2014, a German DJ duo Twoloud was announced in a joint effort. The song was called "Rockin" and it was released on February 14, 2014.
The song "Rage" was released as a single on February 16, 2015. It's a partnership between Van Doorn and the Dutch DJ duo Firebeatz. The single "Blinded By the Light" was released in May 2015. On Spinnin' Records, Dobbenberg released the song "Lost Words" later. Dobbenberg announced that he had decided to leave Spinnin's contract in 2016. He later signed to Hardwell's Revealed Recordings for his debut single, dubbed "Pilot" and released on April 4, 2016. "A Thousand Miles," a Dobbenberg starring singer Ruby Prophet, was his debut on his own record label Goldkid, Armin van Buuren's Armada Music imprint. He performed "Rebound" and "Midnight Dancers" after the album's success. He collaborated with Garrix and Dobbbenberg's debut studio album It's Julian Jordan later this year, which was released in December. The album's "Find Love" was released as a single.
"Always" and "Say Love" were two of his album "In 2017," he performed. He also re-designed his music company "Goldkid" and released "Saint" and "Chinook" as singles, as well as "Chinook." He recorded the song "Night of the Crowd" as a result of Steff Da Campo's collaboration in September that year. "Life Years Away," a TYMEN-produced song, was released that year. According to the 2017 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, he ranked 94th. He became a resident DJ at Omnia at Caesars Palace.
