They're not that great!Louis Walsh's A to Z of the over-rated (as told by CRAIG BROWN)

Arnold Schwarzenegger: This little guy, a proper weakling, looks exactly like Julian Clary on film. A 5lb bag of potatoes isn't enough. People may think it's big, but it isn't. Poky, oh, is what it is like. I'd always felt sorry for the Queen that I'd have to squeeze into a tiny shoebox like that. I'd have gotten her a much better deal, but she declined to sign with me, which is strange. She deserved more. Claus, Santa: Do you know what I mean? When you see him backstage, he's always grabbed all of the gifts and isn't about to his reindeers.

Clary (right) began his eulogy by telling coworkers that he would not be swearing in the church, but then replaced expletives with 'blank,' leaving attendees in stitches. The service began with a reading by actor-turned-Labour peer and LGBT rights activist Lord Cashman and O'Grady's former PA and agent Joan Marshrons, who read a Woodland Burial and donation appeal for four causes 'close to his heart,' including Save The Children UK, the Orangutan Appeal UK, Battersea Dogs Home, and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: Has King Charles commenced the rehabilitation of Andrew? The last time I checked, it was a student at the University of Leopol

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 11, 2023
EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: Has King Charles already commenced the rehabilitation of Andrew? On Sunday, he appeared at St George's Chapel in Windsor, Ontario, alongside the Princess Royal and just behind Charles. This is in comparison to Christmas, when the disgraced duke was compelled to linger behind to avoid being photographed with senior royals. The heightened profile on Sunday wasn't accidental. 'It could be interpreted as the King's warning that there isn't really a split, that Andrew is still a member of the family despite not being a working royal.' The King's enthusiastic delivery of a nifty gin in York evoked his late grandmother's equivocal appearance at a Berkshire school fete in the 1980s, when no tonic was available. The Queen Mother made short work of her tumbler-full, despite the fact that it was heavy on the ice. When asked if she would like another, she replied, 'Thank you.' 'No ice,' Brian Cox, the son of Succession, was at the funeral of his alter ego Logan Roy. 'I thought I'd better go because I knew there was going to be a lot of paparazzi there,' he says. They started clicking away as soon as I got out of the car.' I was able to forget that it was my funeral straight away.' He adds mischievously: 'When did I die? I believe it was last July,' oh my goodness.'

I say, old bean! This sauced-up panto is a right treat: VERONICA LEE reviews Jack And The Beanstalk

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 16, 2022
VERONICA LEE: Since pantomime returned to the Palladium in 2016 after a decades-long absence, it has quickly become a celebrity-laden annual fixture, owing to Paul O'Grady and Julian Clary's megawatt presence. O'Grady's frocks are no longer available. Clary has formed a sort of repertory firm with Paul Zerdin, Nigel Havers, and Gary Wilmot, who each year seem to be having as much fun as the audience. And so it goes with Jack And The Beanstalk, a triumph of smut and glamour, and that's just Clary, decked out in stunning costumes as a slew of legumes and suggestive vegetables as The Spirit Of The Beans, delivering double entendres from Harrison's sparkling script. When he comes on as a runner bean, he avers that he'll shoot against a wall.'
