Jules Asner (born Julie Ann White, 1968) is both a screenwriter and writer as well as a former television journalist, television host, and model.

Early life

Asner was born Julie Ann White in Tempe, Arizona. She was discovered at a modeling show in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 16. She began her modeling career as an Elite model. Cindy Crawford's early modeling career shared a bunk-room with her daughter Cindy Crawford. She graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe in 1986.

She attended UCLA.

Personal life

She was married to Matthew Asner and took his surname, making her the daughter-in-law of actor Ed Asner from 1992 to 1996.

On May 10, 2003, she married film director Steven Soderbergh in their New York apartment. Soderbergh has often credited his wife with the influence on his female characters.

A Asner and Soderbergh photo of Logan Lucky in 2018 was shared on Twitter by TheRebeccaBlunt's Twitter account. Asner also did uncredited rewrite work on Magic Mike and several of Soderbergh's other films.
