Judy Lenteen Pace (born June 15, 1942) is an American actress best known for her appearances in film and television shows, particularly in blaxploitation films.

Pace portrayed Vickie Fletcher on the television series Peyton Place (1968–1979) and Pat Walters on the ABC drama series The Young Lawyers (1969–1971), for which she received the Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series in 1970.

Personal life

Pace married actor Don Mitchell in 1972. They had two daughters together before their divorce in 1984. Julia Pace Mitchell and Shawn Meshelle Mitchell are their daughters. When Curt Flood saw her as a bachelorette contestant on the game show The Dating Game, Pace had been convicted. They didn't exist until 1970. Pace and Flood met again in 1986, leading to their marriage. They remained together until Flooding in 1997.

Early life and career

Pace was born in Los Angeles, California, as the second of two daughters to an airplane mechanic and a dressmaker. Jean Pace Brown, Pace's older sister, was a student and actor who married actress and comedian Oscar Brown, Jr. Pace made her film debut in William Castle's 13 Frightened Girls (1963), as one of the principal characters. Vickie Fletcher, the first black villainess on television, earned her first major break in Hollywood in 1968 with her role as Vickie Fletcher in the hit ABC-opera/drama series Peyton Place. Pace was praised by noted film critic Roger Ebert for her role in the popular youth-oriented film Three in the Attic, also in 1968.

Pace quickly became a familiar face in the 1970s on both big and small screens, appearing in popular blaxploitation films and famous television shows. What's Happening, Batman, Tarzan, Bewitted, I Dream of Jeannie, The Flying Nun, Days of Our Lives, I Spy, Peyton Place, Peyton Place, Medical Center, That's My Mama, That's My Mama, O'Hara, What's It Happens, What's My Mama, O'Hara, Sanford, and Son. Good Times! She appeared in the ABC drama The Young Lawyers for one season. Linda, Gale Sayers' wife, appeared in the critically acclaimed 1971 ABC-TV film Brian's Song, Pace also played a key supporting role.
