Juan Diego Botto Rota (born in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine-Spanish actor.
Early life
Juan Diego Botto Rota was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on August 29, 1975, the son of Diego Fernando Botto Alduncn and Cristina Rota. Both his parents were actors. During the Argentine Dirty War, his father (a member of the Peronist Youth and Montoneros) was kidnapped and murdered in 1977. Nur Al Levi, his little sister, was born in 1978, along with his mother and older sister Marcia. Both his sisters are actors. His mother taught acting lessons out of their apartment before establishing her own academy.
He attended high school in New York and spent two years there.
Personal life
Botto and his partner, Spanish journalist and writer Olga Rodrez, currently live in Madrid. Salma is their daughter. He has been involved in politics since 2003, protesting the 2003 war in Iraq and supporting a help group for fellow victims of the abducted.
