Johannes Franciscus "Jos" Verstappen (born 4 March 1972) is a Dutch former racing driver.
Jos Verstappen has won races in A1 Grand Prix and Le Mans Series LMP2 (winning the 24 hours of Le Mans LMP2 in 2008).
He was also the German Formula Three champion and Masters of Formula Three champion in 1994, before his F1 debut in 1994.
Before he retired, Jos was the most profitable Dutch F1 racer before he resigned and started mentoring his son Max in Formula 1.

Verstappen married Belgian ex-kart racer Sophie Kumpen, whose cousin is NASCAR Whelen Euro Series racing driver Anthony Kumpen, and whose uncle is former motocross and GT endurance rally driver Paul Kumpen, married Verstappen in 1996. Early career
Verstappen began karting at the age of 8, and soon after, he was competing in national championships. He was the Dutch junior champion in 1984. He was a hit and captured two European championships.
He made the switch to auto racing at the end of 1991. He competed in Formula Opel Lotus, a class in which identical cars race against each other. He won the European championship in his first year as a result of his work with Van Amersfoort Racing, who also produced Christijan Albers, Tom Coronel, and Bas Leinders. He competed in New Zealand Formula Atlantic during the European winter season.
