Jonathan Glao Tah (German pronunciation: [ˈjoːnatan ˈtaː]; born 11 February 1996) is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Bayer Leverkusen and the Germany national team.

Club career

Tah began playing football in Altona, 93 years ago. Before being snapped up by Hamburger SV, then remained a student at SC Concordia before being picked up by Hamburger SV. In a DFB Cup match against SV Schott Jena, Tah made his competitive debut for Hamburger SV on August 4th. In a 2-0 home loss to Werder Bremen on September 21, he made his Bundesliga debut on September 21.

He was loaned to Fortuna Düsseldorf for one year on September 1, 2014.

He signed a five-year deal with Bayer Leverkusen on July 15, 2015. On February 26, 2018, Bayer Leverkusen revealed the transfer of Tah's contract with the club until 2023. On March 10, 2019, he made his 100th Bundesliga appearance for the club.

International career

In March 2016, Tah received his first call up to the senior Germany squad for friendlies against England and Italy. In a 2–3 loss, he made his debut in the former, falling on at halftime for Mats Hummels. At Euro 2016, he was called up to assist Antonio Rüdiger.

Tah was not selected in Joachim Löw's final 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
