Early life and high school
Greenard grew up in Hiram, Georgia, and attended Hiram High School, where he played basketball and football. He was named the year's best regional defensive player as a senior. Greenard, a three-star recruit, has pledged to play college football at Louisville over Kentucky.
College career
Greenard, a member of the Louisville Cardinals, was redshirting his true freshman season. As a redshirt freshman with 22 tackles (even for loss) and 2.5 sacks, as well as two passes broken up and an interception, he returned 42 yards for a touchdown, he was a key reserve at linebacker with 22 tackles (seven for loss) and 2.5 sacks. He made five tackles in his first appearance in the 2016 Citrus Bowl, losing. In his redshirt sophomore season, Greenard was a starter for the Cardinals and led the team with 15.5 tackles and tied for the team lead with seven sacks. In the first game of his redshirt junior season against Alabama, Greenard dislocated his wrist and was forced to miss the entire season. He has confirmed that he will be transferring to the University of Florida at the end of the season.
Greenard, who suffered as a redshirt freshman, took extra classes in order to graduate a semester early and was able to enroll at Florida in January 2019 as a graduate transfer. Since making six tackles with 1.5 sacks against Miami in his first game as a Gator, he was named the Southeastern Conference co-Defensive Lineman of the Week. Greenard finished the season with 52 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks, including three force fumbles, a fumble recovery, four passes defended, and an intercept.
Professional career
In the third round, 96th overall, of the 2020 NFL Draft, Greenard was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round, 90th overall. Greenard signed a four-year deal with the Texans on May 14, 2020, as part of a nearly $900,000 signing bonus. Greenard made his NFL debut against the Minnesota Vikings on October 4, 2020. Greenard's first sacking of Cam Newton was recorded against the New England Patriots in Week 11, defeating the 27-20 victory. Greenard finished his rookie season with 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack in 13 games played with one start.
Greenard was placed on injured reserve on October 22, 2022.
