Dr. Gary Motykie, a Los Angeles surgeon who has worked with a number of celebrities, referred to female celebrities who have been known for their 'natural' appearances but which evidently did not have any work done. He also referred to several male celebrities who had used sprays and transplants to sort out their thinning hairlines, as well as fillers to minimize wrinkles. The plastic surgeon said there was now a trend among celebrities to opt for'more natural' tweaks that respected the face's shape.

At the age of 61, singer Q Lazzarus died. The artist was best known for her song Goodbye Horses, which was included in the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs in the scene where serial killer Buffalo Bill posed in front of a mirror. Q Lazzarus, a Broadway actress, had the honor of meeting the film's director, Jonathan Demme, when driving a cab in New York in the 1980s. She appeared on the filmmaker's demo tape and later used her footage in several films he made in subsequent years.
