Dr. John Torres, an emergency specialist at Premier Urgent Care in Colorado Springs and senior medical contributor to NBC News, has compiled a list of the top four mistakes that patients make in an emergency. Patients should not (1) call loved ones first in an emergency, according to him. This is wasting valuable time, and instead, people should call 911 immediately. Patients should not be admitted to hospital (2) because doing so delays medical care that cannot be provided by an ambulance. According to him, it is important not to leave sick patients in the hospital (3) so that someone else can be on hand to explain what happened in the medical emergency. He also advised that you do not forget your phone charger (4) because it will not be known how long you will be on the wards.

After a dramatic bodycam video showed the pair sprinting into the house of an unconscious baby and administering CPR until she began breathing again, two Missouri police officers are being credited with saving an infant's life. In Kansas City, Missouri, Officers Richard DuCaine and Charles Owen responded to the home of Tajanea Allen last week. Kamiyah, Allen's one-month-old daughter, had trouble breathing due to a sudden outbreak of respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV. Officer DuCaine can be seen streuncing from his car to home, quickly taking the baby from a man in the house. He started CPR on the wounded baby, first giving her chest compressions before handing her over to pat her back repeatedly. The baby was so small, she looked like a doll,' Officer Owen said.'
