Princess Eugenie, nicknamed a fashion fail at William and Kate's wedding in April, has been transformed into the epitome of sophistication, according to a leading celebrity stylist

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 4, 2024
At Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011, it wasn't just the bride and groom that drew worldwide notice. No further comment is required on Kate's sister Pippa's svelte appearance. And, of course, there were Beatrice and Eugenie, who most unexpectedly awaited sporting headgear of surprising - to put it more kindly - flamboyance. In Eugenie's case, an opulent Philip Treacy fascinator was paired with a striking Vivienne Westwood dress, a mixture that resulted in as much criticism as praise. And will have a long life in memory, for those that have lived long in the memory.

ALEXANDRA SHULMAN'S NOTEBOOK: At my local GP surgery, it was a bitter pill to swallow

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 25, 2024
It was certainly too good to be true, according to the author. I had been looking for the right one after decades of trying multiple local NHS surgeries. OK, not exactly Shangri-La but the receptionist answered the phone quickly, the waiting room was not overflowing, medications were delivered accurately, and I knew I needed a great doctor I could trust and knew when I needed. However, as good things come, this happy relationship came to an end last week with a text alert advising the surgery's patients that we will no longer be able to make appointments by phone or by visiting the reception desk. Rather, they were upgrading to a 'triage' model, which could be accessed online. Undoubtedly, the latest technology will not be beneficial to a large number of elderly patients who may not have internet access and who may be confused by this process. It's certainly not beneficial to me. Patients will need to tick a variety of items, ranging from "heavy bleeding" to "crushing chest pain" to the need for repeat prescriptions, according to the instructions.

Evelyn de Rothschild's children and his widow are fighting for £600 million

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 3, 2022
Sir Evelyn's third wife, American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and political power player Lynn Forester, 68, and her husband's offspring, Jessica, David, and Anthony were reported to be in squabbles between her husband and her husband's offspring. A multi-million-pound wedge of Rothschild fortune is expected to pass out of the 200-year-old British branch of the family empire, which also helped finance Wellington's armies at Waterloo, Suez Canal, and the London Underground. We're talking about one of the biggest upheavals of this sort in history,' a source close to the family told The Mail on Sunday night. We suspect he gave over the Rothschild fortune, or at least a portion of it.' It's all likely that it will be heading to Lynn, and it would not have been if he hadn't been very generous to everyone.' Lynn is expected to get'something in the region of £600 million,' according to the source.

Edie Sedgwick's 91-year-old sister's latest book chronicles the Andy Warhol muse's tragic life

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 21, 2022
Alice Sedgwick Wohl (inset), 91, has written an unflinching late in life memoir about her sister's luxurious but brutal childhood on a ranch in Santa Barbara and her sister's descent into bulimia and opioid use, which began when she was 13 years old when her father was arrested because she caught him having sex in the family living room with another woman. Sedgwick had spent nine months in a mental hospital where she became pregnant for the first time and had an abortion before she headed to New York and began her brief career as a muse to Andy Warhol. Sedgwick died of a barbiturate overdose at the age of 28 in 1971. Wohl (the eldest of eight Sedgwick siblings) claims she was alienated from her famous sister for the majority of her life. The basis of her latest book, 'As It Turns Out: Thinking About Edie and Andy,' explores the enduring success of her younger sister, who she once regarded as a "vain, shallow, spoiled child doing silly, meaningless stuff.' "I suppose I missed it then,' she says. I missed it in part because I didn't see it.' "I can say for Andy Warhol-all that I didn't have the eyes to see," she says.

A home in Manhattan that was the scene of a murder-suicide in 1902 has gone up for auction for $29.5 million

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 23, 2022
A stunning NYC townhouse located on the Upper East Side of the Upper East Side, which was once the scene of a spectacular murder-suicide, is up for auction at $29.5 million. It was originally intended for renowned novelist Paul Ford (inset) who was killed in the library by his brother in 1902 due to a money dispute. Ford was born with a spinal abnormality that left him with a hunchback and dwarfism. Despite his physical limitations, he continued to be a best-selling novelist before being shot in cold blood by his wayward brother, who had been disinherited from the family fortune for wanting to pursue a career in sports. Esther Kerrigan, a socialite who augmented the home with a priceless art priceless art collection that contained paintings and drawings by John Singer Sargent, Gainsborough, and Daumier, was taken over. In 1987, the staircase alone was worth $400,000 (roughly $1 million in today's money).
