As he approaches the end of his nine-and-a-half years term, the Parole Board has announced that it is considering the situation of Islamic State recruiter Abdalraouf Abdallah (pictured). Abdallah, 29, had a major influence on Manchester bomber Salman Abedi, 22, whose official probe into the 2017 attack concluded last week. According to the Manchester Arena Inquiry, more than 1,000 text messages were exchanged between Abedi and Abdallah in 2014.

He hoped to help, but instead Mr Atkinson, who had been waiting and trembling where he had fallen for 47 minutes, said it felt like 'last's'. After police on the scene lost patience and pulled him out on a makeshift stretcher made of advertisement hoardings and a metal barrier, Mr Atkinson was only seen by a paramedic. However, he wasn't rushed to hospital, and after the explosion, he went into cardiac arrest at 11.47 p.m., an hour and 16 minutes later. He was admitted to the hospital but did not recover.

Callous Bunthawee Rimmer, inset and right, was sentenced to at least 11 years in prison in July 2012 after being found guilty of murdering her elderly companion Paul Norfolk (left) the year before. As he slept in the house they shared in Haverhill, Suffolk, Rimmer launched the frenzied assault with a 12oz hammer. She attempted suicide and was discovered by police officers next to her boyfriend's body. Rimmer had head injury and was incoherent. She had also taken an overdose, but she recovered. Rimmer told police that Mr Norfolk intends to lure her out of his house, which a judge dismissed.

A court heard that Jordan Bottom, who is accused of murdering Bradley Lyons (left) in the belief he sexually assaulted his stepdaughters, wrote rap songs about the murder. A rap written after the murder read, 'I've got murder on my mind, see blood in my eyes, murder on the brain, and someone's dying tonight.' After assaulting Mr Lyons and holding him inside a boot for hours, they, along with Rikki Smith and Albert Thorn, are accused of dragging him to a shallow grave and shooting him dead. As the trial continues, both three men have pleaded not guilty to murder.
