Locals could be left homeless if plans to convert Scotland's castle into a "billionaires' playground."

The Kenmore village in Highland Perthshire (pictured) is the result of change, a complete re-drafting of the area to make it into a 'billionaires' playground,' according to critics. A 7,000-acre parcel of Scottish land will be unveiled as part of the US real estate corporation's new 'worlds.' To buy into it, eyewatering sums will be needed. Other 'worlds' - or "luxury lifestyle residential communities" have sprouted in the most coveted of locations in Florida, Hawaii, Bahamas, and Dubai, to name a few. However, the Perthshire 'world', with the magnificent Taymouth Castle as its centrepiece, is the first in the United Kingdom. It will have 167 new high-end homes for rent, each lining a private golf course that is currently landscaped on the former public golf course's site. It is predicted that in time it would be seeded with the 'American grass' that is so popular by foreign visitors.

Developers in Kenmore, a tiny Scottish village, have been 'trangled.'

According to campaigners, a picturesque Scottish village with a 19th-century castle is being'strangled' by US developers who have bought up the majority of the area. Kenmore, Perthshire, is best known for its wildlife, woodland estate, and Taymouth Castle, which was a filming location for the 1997 Judi Dench film Mrs Brown. Locals are furious over Discovery Land Company's proposal to create a 320-hectare gated community on the Taymouth estate and neighboring Glenlyon Estate. They fear billionaires are attempting to create a 'playground' for the super wealthy in Kenmore, which has seen the local hotel and post office close. 'Protect Loch Tay', a new online group, has been launched with the intention of stopping development and safeguarding the area's wildlife and natural beauty. Locals in the village, which only has 100 people, are particularly worried about the local populations of beavers, otters, birds, and rare species. The Taymouth estate, which had been open to walkers, now has 'path blocked' signs and security warnings, according to them, with the castle, which was built in 1806, covered in scaffolding as part of a major £300 million renovation program. Discovery Land Company and John Paul DeJoria, a hairdresser who co-founded Paul Mitchell hair products and is married to Eloise Broady, a former Playboy model, purchased the castle in 2018.
