Coach Mike Anderson was known as the head coach for Orange Coast College for 27 years. In the January 2020 helicopter accident that also killed Kobe Bryant, a four-time state junior college champion and named national coach of the year by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2019.

Before Fame

In Chicago, Illinois, he was the sixth of eight total children. He played baseball for the University of Houston from 1984-1985, where he would have graduated from 1987 with a degree in physical education.

Trivia

In 2019, he captured his fourth state championship with Orange Coast College. He coached the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League from 2012 to 2014.

Family Life

In the 2020 helicopter crash, he died alongside his wife Keri and daughter Alyssa. He was saved by his son J.J. and his daughter Alexis.
