On Sunday, liberation producer Joey McFarland apologized for taking a photograph from an 1863 portrait of an enslaved man to the Los Angeles premiere of Apple's first major release after infamously slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. 'I wholeheartedly apologize to everyone I've offended by carrying a photograph of Peter to the Emancipation premiere,' McFarland said in a tweet.' "I wanted to honor this remarkable man and to remind the general public that his image not only brought about change in 1863, but also encourages change today.'
