Joe Ferguson Career

Professional career

In the third round of the 1973 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected Ferguson. Ferguson played three seasons for the Detroit Lions, two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and one final season with the Indianapolis Colts, although he is best known for his appearances with the Bills from 1973 to 1984. Jim Kelly, Ferguson's number 12 on the Bills, has been fired for his replacement with the team, Hall of Famer Jim Kelly.

Ferguson finished in the top ten in pass attempts five times, completes and passing yards four times, passing touchdowns six times, and yards per pass three times. He held the NFL record for consecutive starts by a quarterback with 107, with Ron Jaworski, before being replaced by Joe Dufek on September 30, 1984. He has a 1–3 record in the NFL playoffs, winning against the New York Jets in 1981. He lost his three games with the Cincinnati Bengals, the San Diego Chargers the year before (a game in which he played the entire game without a sprained ankle), and the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1974. After playing only one game with the Colts in 1989, he resigned after the 1990 season.

Ferguson came out of retirement to play as a backup quarterback for the San Antonio Texans in the Canadian Football League's South Division in 1995. After starting quarterback David Archer was injured midseason, Kay Stephenson, who had worked with Ferguson in his last year in Buffalo, was coach of San Antonio at the time and needed a cheap backup who knew Stephenson's gear.

Ferguson tied Fran Tarkenton for the NFL lead in 1975 with 25 touchdown passes and an 81.3 passer rating. Ferguson has also passed over 20 touchdown passes in three other seasons: 1980, 1981, 1983. He had 196 touchdowns and 209 interceptions during his career, finishing his career with 196 touchdowns and 209 interceptions.

Chicago residents WIN $12M class-action lawsuit after botched coal plant implosion blanketed thousands homes in thick, suffocating dust

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 23, 2024
Meant to be a demolition, the malfunction took place at the former Crawford Power Plant just over four years ago, and sent a thick plume of smoke over the Little Village neighborhood of the city. It left the mostly Mexican-American nabe blanketed in dust, despite being planned by local officials. A subsequent inspector general's probe found fault with the company that commissioned the plant implosion. Identified in charging documents as Hilco Redevelopment, the firm on Tuesday agreed to the settlement. Residents affected, meanwhile, recalled to the US Northern District Court of Illinois how the cloud of dust suffocated them within seconds, after the 400-foot smoke stack set to be imploded fell. Some said they still have difficulty breathing, as the settlement means Hilco is now safe from any more suits. The firm has yet to comment on the new development, after being subcontracted by the city.
