According to reports, an FC Nantes supporter died after being stabbed by a car for hire driver ahead of the Ligue 1 team's 1-0 victory over Nice on Saturday. When traveling to the Stade de la Beaujoire, several Nice supporters were assaulted by rivals of Nantes just before 8 p.m. According to French outlet Ouest, the assassination squad was carrying Nice supporters in their car and reportedly stabbed the victim in the back outside of the Saint Georges Bar, near the stadium. The assassinated man has since turned himself in to local police.
