Well, there was scoring in droves and a slew of people – as well as an underdog tale. The only thing truly missing was a huge audience to see it all. LACC making tickets limited - with some being offered to staff and those in hospitality surrounded the function and drew criticism. Despite all the low scoring during the tournament, there seemed to be a certain lack of enjoyment. Now a week later, and you get a whole different tale. Well, the Travelers Championship's scores were almost identical to those seen at the US Open. However, the tournament provided the same atmosphere as LACC did not have.

On Tuesday, Jim Furyk was named captain of the United States team at the 2024 Presidents Cup. In Montreal, the biennial competition involving the United States and international teams will be held on September 24-29, 2024. Mike Weir of Canada was named captain of the international squad in November.
