Crystal Palace snub Southampton's second offer for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi - with Eagles keen to loan the youngster to a Championship club rather than deal with a Premier League rival

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 19, 2024
Crystal Palace have dismissed a second proposal from Southampton for young winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. Southampton had already asked about a loan with an option and are now understood to have expressed a willingness to buy the 21-year old outright but Palace sources insist they have yet to receive an official bid. They are reluctant to deal with a Premier League rival and would prefer Rak-Sakyi to go out on loan to the Championship. They have noted the progress made by Omari Hutchinson who went on loan from Chelsea to Ipswich initially and recognise Rak-Sakyi is capable of having a similar impact on the division this season.

After his team was booed off in Bournemouth's loss, Roy Hodgson apologizes to Crystal Palace fans for claiming to have been "spoiled" and he 'bitterly regrets' his words

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 8, 2023
Roy Hodgson, the current Crystal Palace chairman, has regrets his choice of words in implying that Eagles' followers had been disappointed with recent years' performance at Selhurst Park, but has promised to continue the collected effort to lift his team's table. Palace was humiliated to a 2-0 home loss by Bournemouth on Wednesday night, when some supporters opted for a late departure before boos followed the final whistle, with one supporter launching a missile in Hodgson's direction as he walked away. With just one league victory in the last eight games, five of which have been lost, the 76-year-old explains all too well the resentments in the stands at his boyhood club.
