The Green Bay Packers do things differently. The Packers have been a publicly owned, non-profit corporation since 1923, and Lambeau Field has been open 363 days per year as the only NFL team without an owner. Earl 'Curly' Lambeau, who co-founded the franchise on August 11, 1919, was named after the 81,411 seater stadium. The Packers joined the NFL two years later and are the third oldest squad behind only the Chicago Cardinals (now of Arizona) and the Decatur Staleys (now the Chicago Bears). The Packers were named in Green Bay, Wisconsin, because Lambeau worked for the Indian Packing Company, the team's original sponsors.
