The Green Bay Packers do things differently. Earl 'Curly' Lambeau, who co-founded the franchise on August 11, 1919, was named after the 81,411 seater stadium. The Packers joined the NFL two years later and are the third oldest squad behind only the Chicago Cardinals (now of Arizona) and the Decatur Staleys (now the Chicago Bears). The Packers were named in Green Bay, Wisconsin, because Lambeau worked for the Indian Packing Company, the team's original sponsors.

Jerry Glanville, the fiery former Atlanta Falcons and Houston Oilers head coach, is returning to the sidelines at age 82, this time as an assistant at a Division II school. Glanville has been hired as the team's defensive coordinator, according to Northwestern Oklahoma State University's announcement on Wednesday. The Rangers are adding Deion Sanders, one of college football's most popular names, to the team.
