Jeremy Robert Sumpter (born February 5, 1989) is an American actor.
His main roles include: Peter Pan, Jacob in the 2014 disaster film Into the Storm, and J. D. McCoy's recurring role in the NBC television series Friday Night Lights (2008–2010).
Early life
Sumpter was born in Carmel, California, to Sandy (née Johnson) and Gary Sumpter. Jessica is his twin sister and Travis and Jennifer have two other siblings. When he was ten months old, his family moved to Mount Sterling, Kentucky, his mother's hometown.

Sumpter and Lauren Pacheco had planned to marry in December 2015 but they reported in October 2016 that they were no longer engaged.
Career
Sumpter was 11 years old and began his modeling in Kentucky. He also won the Pre-Teen Male Model of the Year, where he joined Mark Robert as his personal manager. Sumpter and his family then moved to Los Angeles, California, and began acting afterwards.
Sumpter's first film appearance was in Frailty's 2001 film as the young Adam Mieks seen in flashbacks. Sumpter was named for his role in "Best Performance by a Younger Actor" at the Saturn Award Showcase. He appeared alongside Danny Glover in the showtime film Just a Dream, for which he was named "Best Performance in a TV Movie, Mini-Series, or Special - Leading Young Actor." Local Boys, a family surfing drama starring Mark Harmon and Eric Christian Olsen, was his next film.
Sumpter was selected for the role of Peter Pan in July 2002, at the age of 13. Sumpter did almost all of his stunts for the film himself. He says he trained sword fighting as much as five hours a day, as well as gymnastics and lifting weights to prepare. He was working with actress Rachel Hurd-Wood and formed a close friendship with her. He complemented his preparations with cricket and surfing while filming in Australia. Sumpter grew several inches in the film's development, requiring staging techniques to keep Captain Hook's height advantage over Peter in face-to-face scenes late in the game. "The window he flies out of had to be increased twice," producer Lucy Fisher said. Despite the film's box office debacle, Sumpter has been named both a Saturn and Young Artist Award for the film.
He starred in the television series Clubhouse as a kid who wants to play as a batboy for a New York City major league baseball team in the fall of 2004. After five episodes, CBS pulled the series; the remaining 11 episodes have since been shown on cable/satellite television channels. He appeared in Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life, a Lifetime Channel film about a famous teenager whose life is marred by an addiction to internet pornography.
Sumpter spent the summer of 2005 in Oregon filming The Sasquatch Gang, a.k.a. In November 2006, the Sasquatch Dumpling Gang) was born.
